Michal Smiesko Wins Gold at 2025 Pan American Championships

BC Provincial Team athlete Michal Smiesko delivered a stellar performance at the 2025 Pan American Championships, securing gold in the U18 category and finishing an impressive 6th overall among top international competitors. At just 16 years old, Michal showcased incredible skill, determination, and composure on the international stage.
The event, held in Montgomery, Alabama, brought together elite paddlers from across the Americas, making it one of the most competitive races of the season. Michal’s victory in the U18 category highlights his growth as an athlete and reinforces his position as one of Canada’s rising talents in canoe kayak.
