Spring / Summer 2025 Updates
As we look ahead to the 2025 paddling season, we are excited to share key updates and preliminary information about upcoming regattas, camps, and development opportunities. Please review the details below and stay tuned for further updates as the season approaches.
Regatta & Competition Updates:
- Canada Games Trials & BC CUP 1 (May 24-25, 2025):
- Event includes: Canada Games Qualifying events & full set of races for U14, U12, U10, Masters, and Para athletes.
- Pilot Project for ICF SUP Disciplines: Athletes in U14, U12, U10, and Masters categories can enter at no additional fee.
- Competition opportunities in SUP, Surfski, and OC disciplines.
- Registration for this regatta is now available! Register Here!
- Provincial Championships & Nationals Qualifier (July 2025):
- Serves as the Provincial Championship for all age categories, continuing last year’s format.
- C15 Races: U14 and U16+ categories included, with U16+ races serving as a qualifying event.
- Competition opportunities in SUP, Surfski, and OC disciplines.
- Fort-Ridge Fall Classic Regatta (Maple Ridge): Will feature C15 races as part of the event schedule.
- Fall Testing & Fall Distance Regatta (October 24-26, 2025): Specific dates for testing and racing will be confirmed closer to the event.
- Note: There will be no CKBC Fall Camp this year.
Paddler Development Opportunities:
- Nanaimo Development Camp (August 25-29, 2025): Open to athletes across BC, this camp is geared toward Next Gen and BC Summer Games development-level paddlers.
- Potential BC Games-Style Multi-Discipline Regatta (August 30-31, 2025): CKBC is currently exploring the opportunity to host this event following the Island Development Camp. More details will be shared as they become available.
Sprint Officials Training Opportunities:
It is a fact that Canoe Kayak BC’s events would not be possible without the help of our amazing Volunteer Officials. With many different positions available, we seek individuals with a variety of skills to help make all our events a success.
Come experience one of the best seats at the regatta—register for one of our officials' training clinics to learn what you need to get started!
- Level 1/2: April 8
- Level 3: April 29 and May 1 (two-night course + exam)
- Level 1/2 (second offering): July 8
