Team BC Canoe Kayak Athletes Selected for 2025 Canada Summer Games

Canoe Kayak BC is proud to announce the athletes selected to represent Team BC in Sprint Canoe Kayak at the upcoming 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Selections were based on performances demonstrated at the Canada Summer Games Trials, held May 24-25, 2025, as well as each athlete's commitment and intent to represent British Columbia at the national level.

This team represents the strength, dedication, and depth of our provincial sprint program, and we look forward to watching them compete on the national stage this August.

Men’s Kayak: 

Harris Hunter, Douglas Hunter, Damian Hickey, Evan Cummings, Peter Thompson-Whike

Alternate: Marko Radovic

 

Women’s Kayak: 

Kahlen Tsze, Senika Velisek, Elena Pelekh, Paige Johns

Alternate: Eva Jancker

 

Men’s Canoe: 

Jeffrey Sun, Alex Smith, Corben Hickey, Nate Neuls

Alternate: Hayden McCulloch (L), Zack Smith (R)

 

Women’s Canoe: 

Veronica So, Keisa Bleiler, Abby Charlesworth, Roxie Bodnar, Eliza Grob

Alternate: none

 

We are also pleased to announce the Team BC Canoe Kayak staff who will be supporting our athletes throughout their Canada Games journey:

  • Team Manager: Stanislav Marek

  • Head Coach: Blake Dalton

  • Assistant Coach: Gillian Herrington

  • Technical Support: Edward Colhoun

As part of our team preparation, athletes will participate in discipline-specific training camps led by experienced club coaches across the province. The camp schedule is as follows:

  • Men’s Kayak Camp: July 14-18 in Kamloops
    • Coach: Engin Erkan

  • Women’s Kayak Camp: July 7-11 in Burnaby & False Creek
    • Coach: Edward Colhoun & Othon Diaz Diaz

  • Men’s Canoe Camp: July 7-11 in Fort Langley
    • Coach: Jeremy Stott

  • Women’s Canoe Camp: July 14-18 in Fort Langley
    • Coach: Jeremy Stott
